SOLUBEMA is a pioneer producer of natural crystalline marble in Europe.
SOLUBEMA - Sociedade Luso-Belga de Mármores is one of the largest marble mining companies in Portugal and one of the ten largest in Europe.
Dedicated to the extraction of marble blocks since 1928, in its quarry, located in Herdade da Vigária, in the heart of Alentejo, where superior quality marbles, considered to be the most precious in Portugal, are extracted. The use of these marbles dates back to the period of Roman occupation in Alentejo (2nd century AD), an example of which is the Temple of Diana, in Évora, built with marble from Vigária.

On the extraction process SOLUBEMA uses the most modern and low environmental impact equipment. As SOLUBEMA owns a large stock of high quality blocks, always available for selection, it can carry out the most demanding and varied architectural or design projects.
